Visa to the Republic of Uzbekistan

Foreign citizens and stateless persons may enter Uzbekistan and transit through its territory only if they have entry visas in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. With the exception of citizens of countries for which a visa-free entry regime is established by bilateral international treaties of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (the list of such countries and information on the duration of the visa-free regime is provided below).

Visas to foreign citizens and stateless persons are issued at diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad on the basis of a visa confirmation (confirmation of the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan).

A visa is issued on the basis of an invitation-application from legal entities and individuals permanently or temporarily registered in the territory of Uzbekistan, submitted to the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Individuals submit the following documents:

  •  Visa application form of the established sample;

  • Electronic application form obtained from the website evisa.mfa.uz;

  • Copies of passports of the proposed and proposing persons;

  • Original invitation letter from the internal affairs bodies;

  • In cases where the visa is intended to be obtained at the Tashkent airport - copies of the air ticket or reservation.

Written applications from legal entities and individuals submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan in accordance with the established procedure are considered within 4 working days.

Foreign citizens and stateless persons must submit the following documents to diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad to obtain a visa:

  • Passport or stateless person document (the validity of these documents must be at least 3 months longer than the visa);

  • 2 copies of a fully completed visa application form;

  •  2 color photos (passport size - 35x45mm).

To obtain a transit visa, foreign citizens and stateless persons, in addition to the above documents, must have a visa of the country of visit and travel documents confirming the date of departure from Uzbekistan to the destination country. In this case, the visa processing time is 3 days.

Citizens of countries that do not have a diplomatic mission or consular representation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and stateless persons can obtain a visa upon arrival in Uzbekistan at the visa service sector of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Tashkent International Airport. To do this, the inviting individual or legal entity on the territory of Uzbekistan must apply in advance to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan in accordance with the established procedure, obtain an appropriate confirmation (stamp) from the Visa Service Department of the Consular Legal Department and send it to the invited person. This confirmation is presented by the invited person when purchasing an air ticket and passing passport control in his country, and on the basis of this document a visa is issued to him at the visa service sector of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Tashkent International Airport.
