Fascinating Journey Through the Pearls of Tajikistan

Meet and greet at the Oybek border crossing, followed by a transfer to Khujand (68 km, approximately 1 hour). Upon arrival, begin your discovery of one of the oldest cities in Central Asia. The tour starts with a visit to the Regional Archaeological Museum, where you will learn about the rich history of the region. Continue with a pleasant walk through the picturesque Kamoli Khujandi Park before exploring the ancient Khujand Fortress. In the afternoon, visit the famous Panjshanbe Bazaar, the largest market in northern Tajikistan, and the Sheikh Muslihiddin Mosque. Continue to the magnificent Arbob Palace, an outstanding example of 20th-century architecture and an important symbol of the country's history. Later, enjoy the beautiful views of the Kayrakkum Reservoir, often referred to as the "Tajik Sea." 

After breakfast, depart at 08:00 for Dushanbe. On the way, stop in Istaravshan, one of the oldest cities in Tajikistan. Visit the ancient Mug Teppa Fortress, stroll through the colorful Eastern Bazaar, and explore the Hazrati Shoh Architectural Complex, which includes the Hazrati Shoh Mausoleum, the tomb of Qusam ibn Abbas—the cousin of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Khudoyar Valami Mausoleum, and the 19th-century Namazgoh Mosque. The journey then continues through the Shahristan Tunnel and along the picturesque Zeravshan River, passing through the breathtaking Fann Gorge, one of the most spectacular natural areas in Tajikistan and the whole of Central Asia. Along the way, admire magnificent landscapes of evergreen forests, snow-capped peaks, and crystal-clear mountain lakes reflecting the surrounding mountains. You will also discover the famous Fann Mountains, known as the Land of a Thousand Lakes, surrounded by peaks rising over 5,000 meters above sea level. Upon arrival in Dushanbe, check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Dushanbe, the vibrant capital of Tajikistan. Visit the National Museum of Tajikistan, admire the impressive Ismoil Somoni Monument, see the world's tallest flagpole standing at 165 meters, stroll through Independence Park, and explore the Ethnographic Museum. Following lunch, drive approximately 30 km to the historic town of Hissar to visit the famous Hissar Fortress, dating back to the 18th century. The excursion also includes two ancient madrasahs and a remarkable mausoleum with a history spanning more than 3,000 years. After the excursion, depart for the Oybek border via Khujand (370 km, approximately 5–6 hours). Upon arrival at the border, your guide will bid you farewell. End of the tour.
