Uzbekistan–China tourism forum opens

The event is addressing issues related to expanding tourism ties between the two states, developing joint travel routes, and implementing new investment projects.

The forum is attended by a delegation led by the Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulaziz Akkulov, as well as more than 40 leading tourism companies, representatives of tourism and recreation zones, tourism complexes, and airlines operating in the country.

It is noted that the inclusion of tourism as one of the five thematic sections of the “3rd Interregional Uzbekistan–China Forum” once again highlights the importance of this sector within the comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two countries.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Tourism Committee proposed expanding travel routes attractive to Chinese tourists, considering the opening of mid-range and high-end hotels under Chinese brands, as well as developing resorts, sanatoriums, and family and active recreation facilities in Uzbekistan’s tourism zones. He also put forward initiatives to create themed parks and entertainment complexes using advanced Chinese experience and technologies, to develop business tourism (MICE), attract large corporate events, banks, and associations, and to promote leading MICE facilities across the country’s regions.

In addition, large-scale presentations were held within the forum showcasing Uzbekistan’s rich tourism potential and the opportunities of its regions. In particular, the historical and cultural heritage of Bukhara was presented, along with the ecotourism and pilgrimage tourism potential of Kashkadarya Region, the significance of Samarkand in world civilization, and information on the modern tourism infrastructure and potential of Tashkent city and Tashkent Region, with participation from deputy governors of the regions.

Foreign participants were also introduced to the “Miraki” tourism complex, the “Arda Khiva” tourism complex, ecotourism opportunities in the Aydarkul area, and the capabilities of the Amirsoy Mountain Resort.

The presentations also highlighted ongoing tourism reforms in Uzbekistan, new travel routes, modern hotel and service infrastructure, and conditions created for foreign investors.

Within the framework of the forum, B2B meetings were held with the participation of more than 200 tour operators and tourism industry representatives from both countries, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation, increasing tourist flows to Uzbekistan, and promoting the country’s tourism and investment potential.
