The International Festival of Gold Embroidery and Jewelry Art took place in the heart of ancient Bukhara

Over the course of three days, the festival featured exhibitions, workshop, theatrical performances, concert programs, and fashion shows. The events were held against the unique backdrop of historic Bukhara, surrounded by the city’s world-famous architectural landmarks.

The festival opened with a ceremonial procession of participants and guests from the Ark Fortress to the Lyabi-Hauz ensemble, creating the atmosphere of a vibrant cultural celebration in the heart of the ancient city.

During the official opening ceremony, participating countries were presented, while international guests and representatives of the cultural sphere delivered speeches. The works showcased by the masters once again demonstrated the high artistic level and richness of Uzbekistan’s national handicraft traditions.

As part of the festival, an international scientific-practical conference dedicated to the development prospects of traditional gold embroidery and jewelry art was also held, alongside an international symposium focused on preserving Bukhara’s ancient weaving traditions. These events became an important platform for professional exchange of experience and discussions on the future development of traditional applied arts.

More than 600 artisans, scholars, honored guests, and media representatives from various countries and regions of Uzbekistan took part in the events. This once again confirmed the growing international interest in Bukhara’s cultural heritage and its status as one of the key centers of handicraft tourism in the region.

The festival’s closing ceremony took place at the square of the Ark Fortress and featured historical theatrical performances, appearances by folklore ensembles, and a concert program with traditional national music.

During the ceremony, winners of competitions in various categories were awarded, including “Best Jeweler,” “Best Gold Embroidery Master,” and “Youngest Talented Artisan.”

Bukhara, which received the status of “World Craft City” in 2022, once again demonstrated to the world its rich cultural heritage, unique handicraft traditions, and atmosphere of Eastern hospitality, further strengthening Uzbekistan’s position as one of the attractive destinations for cultural and educational tourism.
