The Global Train Journey is one of the well-known programs broadcast on NHK BS, a channel of Japan’s national public broadcaster NHK. As part of the program, a famous Japanese TV host travels through different countries by train, explores the culture and traditions of local peoples, and interacts with residents. Each episode attracts an audience of around one million viewers.
The main purpose of the visit is to produce a documentary film about Uzbekistan’s rich history, culture, architecture, national traditions, and everyday life through a railway journey along the Great Silk Road route. During filming, the crew is visiting Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Nukus.
The filming program includes railway stations, the high-speed Afrosiyob train, the Sharq train, the Tashkent Metro, cityscapes, historical landmarks, and traditional oriental bazaars. The release of the program is expected to help a wide Japanese audience gain a closer understanding of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, cultural heritage, and modern way of life.
