Issues of expanding tourist exchange between Uzbekistan and Russia discussed

In particular, during the meeting with Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Dmitry Vakhrukov, the parties reviewed the outcomes of activities implemented in 2024–2025 within the framework of the “Year of Tourism of Uzbekistan in Russia” program.

The sides discussed the effectiveness of measures carried out to promote Uzbekistan’s tourism potential across the regions of the Russian Federation. In addition, the Uzbek side proposed the organization of “Uzbekistan Tourism Days” in Russian regions, and an agreement was reached to continue relevant negotiations on the implementation of this project.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop a program for the “Uzbekistan Tourism Days” in the regions of the Russian Federation for 2026–2027, organize presentation events involving representatives of the tourism industry and tour operators, as well as expand interregional cooperation in the field of tourism.

In addition, the issue of including the Republic of Uzbekistan in the list of countries equated by Russian tour operators with domestic tourism destinations in Russia was discussed.

Within this framework, consultations with the authorized agencies of the Russian Federation are planned, along with the preparation of proposals aimed at developing mutual tourist exchange and creating mechanisms to stimulate tourist flows.

During the meeting with the Head of the Republic of Mordovia Artyom Zdunov, the parties also discussed the organization of “Uzbekistan Tourism Days” in the regions of Russia.

The sides exchanged views on coordinating the dates and formats of the events, organizing B2B and B2C meetings between tour operators, as well as preparing cultural and gastronomic presentations showcasing Uzbekistan’s tourism potential.

Furthermore, during the meeting with Chairperson of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Tatarstan Elena Kuzmicheva, the parties discussed the organization of corporate tourism programs for employees of enterprises in Tatarstan.

As a result of the negotiations, preliminary agreements were reached on the development of special tourism packages and wellness programs, establishing cooperation with resorts and sanatoriums in Uzbekistan, strengthening direct interaction between trade union organizations, and creating mechanisms for regular tourist exchange.

In addition, during negotiations with Chairman of the State Committee on Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan Sergey Ivanov, the parties discussed further expansion of bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector.

The sides reviewed the implementation of joint marketing campaigns, the development of direct interaction between tourism industry stakeholders, as well as the preparation and coordination of bilateral documents.

It was noted that these meetings would contribute to elevating tourism cooperation between the regions of Uzbekistan and Russia to a qualitatively new level, increasing mutual tourist flows, and further strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries.
