The festival aims to preserve and promote the traditions of embroidery and silk production at the international level while exploring their harmonious integration with contemporary design. Shahrisabz was selected as the host city due to its distinctive Iroqi embroidery school, known for its unique techniques, ornamental patterns, and colour combinations.
The programme features an international exhibition and fair, an artisans’ fair, masterclasses, a national scientific and practical conference and forum, as well as a traditional costume show and gala concert. The national “Ipak Kashta Jilosi” competition is being held in six categories. The winners will receive diplomas, certificates, and cash prizes.
One of the key highlights of the festival will be the presentation of a certificate officially recognizing Shahrisabz as a “World Craft City.” Currently, Bukhara, Kokand, and Margilan hold this status in Uzbekistan.
